Born April 6, 1955, in Brooklyn, N.Y. Passed away Jan. 25, 2013, in Scranton, Penn., where he grew up. He has lived in the Antelope Valley 23 years, he received his license of Practical Nursing degree from AV College. He served in the Navy aboard the USS Enterprise. He worked for California Department of Corrections in California City. John enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his children. Survived by his children Shaun P. Rafferty, Meghan Rafferty, Michelle and Maggie Rafferty, his fiancé Ana Cortez, mother Kathleen Boczniewicz, sisters Deborah A. Churmblo, Catherine Fraser, and good friend Scott Smith. Services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Joshua Memorial Park & Mortuary, Lancaster.
