Kenneth R. Creese: Another member of America's greatest generation, a World War II veteran, was welcomed home by his savior, February 23, 2013. Ken was the son of Raymond and Daisy Creese, born April 7, 1924, in San Diego California. Shortly after his 17th Birthday , Ken enlisted in the US Navy. He was stationed on the USS Detroit in Pearl Harbor on December 07, 1941. The Day of Infamy, Ken has made The Antelope Valley his home since 1954, working as an inspector in the Airline and Aerospace industries, Ken worked on notably projects, including the X15, F20 Fighter, B Bomber and The McDonald Douglas DC10. Ken was a proud member of the Lancaster Elks for 52 years, a member of the Eagles for 35 years and a loyal order of Moose, American Legion, The VFW serving as Post Commander 1986-1988 and 2002-2003. The Pearl Harbor Survivors, serving as National President from 1989 to 1990. Some of his fondest and richest memories were of helping make The Antelope Valley Veterans Home a reality, and additionally working with the students of Mrs. Goodreau US History Classes at Lancaster High School. On December 7, 2012, Ken was awarded a Certificate of Recognition honoring his heroic service during WW II issued by the California Senate, and presented by Senator Steve Knight 21st S.D. Ken is survived by his seven children; Gary (Colleen) Creese, from Klamath Falls Oregon, Pamela (Robert) Hatch from Lancaster, California, Paula (Mark) Wayland, from Chino Hills California, Bradley (Lauri) Creese from Palmdale, California, Karen (David) Henson from Lancaster, California, Kendra (Billy) Rankin, from Temecula, Califoarnia and Gwendolyn Creese, from Palmdale California. Eight Grandchildren ; Kevin Creese, Kelly FRank, Melisa Liberto, Jennifer Prescott, Cory Wayland, Christopher Hatch, Bryan Hatch and Paul Henson. Eight Great Grandchildren; Quentin Creese, Faith, Mark and Gracie Prescott, Hayden Hatch, Cody Hatch, Ethan Liberto and Lilly Frank. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Mary Anne, his sister Irene Spears, and Grandson Nathan Creese. A celebration of Ken's life will be held at Joshua Memorial Park and Mortuary a viewing will be held on Wednesday February 27, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. with a Chapel service on Thursday February 28, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. In leiu of flowers the family desires donations be made to The Antelope Valley Veterans Home of "Pride of the Nation Program" at Lancaster High School.

Ahhh Dad, just wanted to let you know that I am thinking of you today on Father's Day ... It seems so weird not being able to call and talk to you... It makes me happy to think you are with your Dad after all those years apart... Give Mom a great big hug, because today is her birthday also, and give Jesus a great big hug and kiss, he has been so GOOD to us!!! Till I see again, know that you are thought of!!
