Lois U Brooks

October 3, 1923 – May 6, 2026

A 65 year resident of the Antelope Valley. Lois was born to Wai Fook Ung and Chun Hee Wong in Hilo, Hawaii. She was the fourteenth of fifteen siblings, and one of a set of twins. She met her life partner, Harold Gillmore Brooks in Hilo, Hawaii. They were married from September 5, 1953 until Harold’s passing on June 6, 2017. She leaves sister Eleanor Chu, daughters, Sandra Cissell, Wendy Shafer, twin grandsons Ty Shafer, Nathan Shafer, great grandchildren, Austin Shafer Wagner, Hayden Shafer, William Shafer & McKenna Shafer and many nieces and nephews.

She loved gardening, growing flowers, cooking, baking, her Chinese heritage, especially the food, her Hawaiian roots, which made her Ohana, and travelling with Harold. They had visited over half of the United States, including their favorite visits to Las Vegas, much of it in the later years of their life.

A Graveside Service will be held at Joshua Mortuary & Joshua Memorial Park, 808 East Lancaster Blvd, Lancaster, California 93535, on June 25, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.
