Michael Earl High

Michael Earl High, only son of Oris and Lucille High was born September 23, 1949 in Jefferson, TX. Michael went to his Eternal Home March 12, 2022. Michael attended elementary school in Jefferson and Marshall, TX. He graduated from H.B. Pemberton in Marshall in 1967. Following his graduation, he soon moved to Fort Worth, TX. This is where he met and married Vera Gray on June 8, 1968. They had four children.

After living and working in Fort Worth, Michael moved his family to Houston, TX. This is where he learned construction and assisted in the building of high-rise buildings and mega Churches for 12 years. In 1987, Michael was transferred to Edwards Airforce Base. This is where he retired after 24 years.

Michael and Vera joined Growing Valley Baptist Church in 1987 where he became a Deacon. Later, he became Chairman of the Deacons Ministry. A Holy Spirit led appointing he held until his death.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Pastor Oris High, mother, Lucille High, sister, Lenette High, and niece Molly High. Left to cherish his life and memories are: his wife of 53 years, Vera, son Damon (Yolonda), daughters Denise Jones (Melvin), Dana Chapple (Garry), DeShondra (Anthony), sister Jannette Rand (Clifford). He also leaves 20 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren 5 aunts, 3 uncles, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and a loving membership in Growing Valley Baptist Church.
