We are here today to celebrate the life of Patricia Ann Avery, who peacefully departed this world on January 27, 2026. Born November 10, 1946, in Salina, Kansas, Patricia was the beloved daughter of Howard and Mae Avery. She was the younger sister to Thomas and Sheila. Throughout her childhood she attended various catholic schools around Kansas due to moving for her fathers job, before the family settled in the antelope valley in 1960.
Patricia attended Antelope Valley high school , where she graduated in 1964. She then continued her education at Antelope Valley junior college for 2 years before earning a Bachelor’s degree in education from Fresno State university. Patricia’s passion for teaching led her to her first teaching position at Piute Junior high as a physical education teacher. From there she dedicated herself to educating young minds at El Dorado Elementary and Nancy Cory Elementary. While she taught multiple grades, it was her work with her kindergarten students that truly ignited her spirit.
After a fulfilling career in education, Patricia retired in 2008 and embraced the opportunity to spend cherished moments with her family, especially her Granddaughters Abigail and Payton. She loved spending time with her “Coffee Group” 3 days a week. She loved tap dancing and musical theater but most of all she loved to travel.
Patricia’s joyful spirit and dedication to her family and students will always be remembered. She will be remembered by her 3 daughters and 5 grandchildren. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the Love she shared so generously in her lifetime.
