

Mr. Raymond Onalion Phillips, the son of the late Robert Phillips Sr. and Augusta Henderson Phillips was born in East St. Louis, Illinois on June 26, 1933. Raymond departed this life on November 20, 2017 peacefully while sleeping. Raymond moved from St. Louis to Mansfield, Louisiana where he was a member of Wesley Methodist Church of Christ at an early age. Raymond later moved to Shreveport, Louisiana where he attended Booker T. Washington School. He recived his G.E.D. and soon after joined the United States Air Force. After living in Shreveport for 15 years he then moved to California where he met and married his Wife Jean Phillips. Years later met a beautiful soul who would change his life, Ms. Bobbie Joy Espree. Ms. Espree and Raymond came to be best friends over the years, more like family. Raymond became the adopted Father and Grandfather to Ms. Espree's Children, Grandchildren, and Great Grandchildren. Raymond was Family and we all loved and embraced him. For almost 16 years Raymond was a part of our family, and we will miss him more than words could ever express. Raymond "Bup Bup", as we knew him, was a kind, sharp, man, he loved playing dominos, cards, and he loved to read. Most of all , he loved eating. There will never be another Raymond O. Phillips.
Raymond is preceded in death by his Wife: Jean Phillips, His Sister: Nettie Phillips, His Parents: Robert & Augusta Phillips. He leaves behind to cherish his memory His Sisters: Mary Jane Marston-Phillips of Coushatta, LA & Carrie Patterson-Phillips of Houston, TX. His brother Robert Phillips Jr., of East St. Louis IL. His Cousin Dewey Henderson. His California Family and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Friends and Loved Ones.
