Rexford D Furman, 77 of Lancaster, CA passed away peacefully on June 12th surrounded by family. Rex grew up in Ithaca, NY and graduated from Baptist Bible College before earning his M.Div. at L.A. Baptist Theological Seminary, becoming a Pastor and Missionary. He loved to tell the story of Jesus and His love.
Rex married Andrea and raised a family together for 53 years. He enjoyed traveling, photography, and bowling. Rex pastored Bethel Baptist Church in Lancaster for 28 years, opening Bethel Christian Schools in 1979. He then pastored Calvary Baptist in Everett, WA for 7 years before traveling globally with Andrea as Field Directors for International Gospel Mission. They retired in 2014.
Rex is survived by Andrea, his siblings Dana and Margaret; his children Dana (Kimberly), Jon (Janelle), Lori; his grandchildren Rachel (Beau), Rebekah, Samuel, Sophia, and great grandchild Jocelyn. His favorite Scripture was I Cor 9:16, “Woe to me, if I preach not the gospel!”
