Roosevelt Newman Jr.

Roosevelt Newman Jr. was born March 25, 1967 to the proud parents of Pearly and Roosevelt Newman Sr. Roosevelt was embraced by God's angels and called home to glory on November 9, 2020. Roosevelt was the youngest of his siblings: Michael, CJ, Eugene and Rhoda. Roosevelt was energetic, joyful, passionate and full of love. In 1985, he graduated from Manual Arts High School in Los Angeles, California. He was into sports and enjoyed playing dominos, billiards and cards with his family and friends. He was an avid fan of the Raiders NFL Team. He became a proud father early in his life and had two children, Levell and Asia Newman. Roosevelt later became disabled and lost his ability to walk. Although the world saw him as disabled he never let it hinder his ability to pursue his dreams. He courageously tackled every single obstacle of life he encountered. Due to the strong teachings of his parents, Roosevelt was very loving and devoted man. His parents showed him the right way to express love. Roosevelt never left his mother's side until he met the love of his life, Cherri. He felt she loved him like no one else could. He felt he had met his soul mate. The two married in 2002 and joined their families together. Their devotion to each other never wavered. He truly lived out Mark 10:7-8 “For this reason a man well leave his father and mother and be united to his wife and the two will become but one flesh." Roosevelt's parents Pearly and Roosevelt Sr. and siblings CJ, Eugene and Rhoda all preceded him in death.
Memories of Roosevelt will be forever cherished by: Children Levell, Asia, Joewel (Lynn) Jacob, Cherrish (Daniel). Grandchildren: Jordan, Isaiah, Kayden Newman, JM. Brother: Michael Aunties: Katherine Finney, Evelyn Thomas, Ora Moore, Wilma Jean Oliver (Larry) Uncle: William Finney Nieces, nephew, grandnieces, grandnephew, and a host of relatives and friends.
