January 6th, 1927 – July 25th, 2021
Roselyn “Darlene” Dickinson was born on January 6th, 1927, in St. Elmo, Illinois to Orville Norman Millhollin and Goldie Ethel Baker. She came to California and began her career as a telephone switchboard operator for California Interstate in Inyokern, California in 1948. She rose to the position of Assistant Chief Operator, then transferred to General Telephone in Lancaster, California and worked until 1967.
In 1963, she married Gerald “Jerry” (son of William and Vivian Dickinson). Together, Darlene and Jerry made a life together over the course of more than 56 years of marriage. They spent many years in Rosamond, CA before relocating to Phelan, Ca in 2003 with their daughter Susan’s family. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow up, working in the yard, reading, and watching the news and her all- time favorite was watching RFD every Saturday night.
Darlene passed away peacefully at the age 94 on July 25th, 2021, with her family by her side. Darlene was a loving and caring sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her son Roger Cline of Inyokern, California and her daughter Susan Barrett of Fontana, California, her sister Betty Coffey of Chillicothe, Illinois, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Darlene was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, and her two brothers Kenneth and Orville Junior.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 30th, 2021, at 3:00 pm at Joshua Memorial Park and Mortuary in Lancaster, Ca. Reverend James Seipel will conduct the service.
