

Vincent Phillip Haile, aged 79, passed away on July 21, 2024, in Lancaster, California. Born on April 30, 1945, in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, Vincent was a revered figure in his community, known for his kindness, generosity, and patience. A true patriot and a lover of cats, his presence enriched the lives of those around him.
Vincent was a graduate of Shamokin High School and proudly served in the Air Force. His military career spanned over 40 years, beginning as a jet engine mechanic and culminating as the Propulsion Manager at the Air Force Flight Test Center at Edwards AFB, CA. His dedication and expertise greatly contributed to the advancements in aircraft propulsion.
After his military service, Vincent continued to impact the aerospace sector as a jet engine mechanic at Pratt & Whitney and later as a supervisor in the US Air Force Civil Service. His technical acumen and leadership were instrumental in his roles, earning him respect and admiration from his peers.
Beyond his professional life, Vincent was passionate about a variety of hobbies. He was an avid player of darts and bowling, a coach for softball, and enjoyed automotive repair. His interests also included operating Ham/CB radio, coin collecting, kayaking, hiking, solving puzzles, and painting. These activities reflected his multifaceted personality and his constant pursuit of knowledge and adventure.
Vincent was a beloved family man, survived by his wife of 37 years, Christanna, his siblings Suzanne Louise Tomaselli (Haile), John O'Gara, and Mark O'Gara; his children Larry D. Wolford, Harry (Buster) Hove, Karen Eckhaus (Wolford), Sonia Lock (Wolford), Lee Wolford, Vincent J. Haile, Shana Yaw (Snedigar), Suzanne Wilder (Hove), and Edward Hove; along with his grandchildren Jessica Wolford, Mason Hove, Matthew Hove, Noah Hove, Crystal Hove, Elizabeth Wilder, and four great-grandchildren. His legacy of love and mentorship will live on through them.
A service to honor Vincent’s life will be held on July 29, 2024, at Joshua Memorial Park, 808 E. Lancaster Blvd., Lancaster, CA 93535, with a viewing from 12-1 PM followed by the service from 1-2 PM. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Wolford household, 42517 Biscay Street, Lancaster, CA 93536. Joshua Memorial Park is also assisting the family during this time.
Vincent's life was a testament to his enduring spirit and commitment to his family, country, and community. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
