He lived 86 wonderful and blessed years.
Wendall was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Wendall is survived by a loving wife of 63 years, Norma Jean Allsopp.
He is survived by his younger sister Ruby Mattingly and was preceded in death by two brothers Billy and Charles. Wendall is survived by four son's; Nathaniel Ray, Dennis Lee, Wendall Gene and Jimmy Everett.
He has nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
Wendall's Story:
Wendall served in the United Sates Navy during World War II on an ocean going tug. During his military service he saw action in the South Pacific. Upon his return from the war he met and married his loving wife Norma.
He loved God and was faithful to his beliefs and convictions right to the very end. His devotion to his faith and convictions served him well for some 65 years. He was a lifetime member of the United Pentecostal Church. He served God faithfully in many capacities including Sunday School Superintendent for many years. Enjoying worship for the last 16 plus at the Cornerstone Apostolic Church in Palmdale, California. He retired from the United Postal Service after 33 years of unblemished service. He then embarked on his second career as a grocery store sacker. To the delight of the old ladies and babies he always found a way to make you smile. His fans would pull his pants and he would smile say "Hi" and even kissed some..... "Babies that is" he'd say with a silly grin! To all his friends and family he will always be remembered as just "Papa Bear"
