Mary was a Christ-follower whose heart overflowed with compassion for others. Although I was not a member of her church where she co-led the singles ministry with Bill, because my daughter was, when my husband passed away Mary reached out to me. She exuded love for all people which especially demonstrated itself by including all wounded people. Her inherent joy in the Lord spilled over in healing for those around her. Even in the last days of her fight against cancer, Mary cared about and inquired about me. She served Our Lord Jesus until He called her home! What a faithful servant she has lived before us, and some day we shall fellowship with her again in heaven!

Mary,
There aren’t words to express some of our closest moments; soul-talk runs deeper than everyday utterances.

As we shared stories throughout the years on Sunday School Class Trips in the mountains or on the beach, at the lake house or fasting and praying at your home, we professed a fellow knowledge in the Greatness of Our Father!

You’re departure time was scheduled before ours, so please bask in His presence. Know that you will be missed greatly and that you were loved immensely.

Mrs. Roberts was a beautiful and very godly woman. She always gave encouraging advice to me when I needed it and always spread her joy and love to all who surrounded her. She was a very wise, very sweet and humble woman of God and she always had something witty to say or a funny story to tell. I loved her dearly and still do, as she is not gone but has only transitioned. She will always be the light that no one can ignore because of her inner beauty through Christ and outer glow that resulted. Heaven rejoices as they welcome our beloved Mrs. Mary Roberts. Heaven has truly gained yet another beautiful angel and warrior of Christ. Let us have hope and comfort in knowing that she is more than safe, joyous and resting with the King. Mrs. Mary Roberts will always live on.

Mary lived her life as a strong women of faith who made serving others her life’s mission. She would identify that someone was in need and she looked for ways to help them. She was generous yet willing to hold others accountable to carry their weigh. She leaned on God for wisdom, guidance, provision and protection. See was greatly loved and is greatly missed.

Mary’s willingness to go the extra mile to make a difference in the lives of others was extraordinary. From her kids at school to her kids in the Singles class (which I was one of) she took care of us all. SS class, days at the lake, weekends in the mountains, concerts, long talks and much prayer. Thank you Lord for letting your servant, Mary, be a part of my life.

I will cherish and treasure many memories made with Bill and Mary during their time at Hickory Grove Baptist Church. Their love for the Impact Singles class went beyond spending an hour together each week. They opened their hearts and their home to us, adopting us as their own grown-up kids. Mary always had an encouraging word, and prayed for us faithfully. She was always a joy to be around. Thank you for loving us so well.
