John Louis Stitnizky passed away on January 23, 2020 at age 80. Born on October 10, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois, he attended Fenger High School and immediately enlisted in the United States Navy in October 1956. In his 21 years of continuous service, he served in the Vietnam War and later served as the Pacific Zone Supervisor for Naval Recruitment in areas throughout the Pacific, even being named as Recruiter of the Year in 1973. That same year, John enrolled at Chaminade College and eventually graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business with minors in Marketing and Management. While stationed in Japan, he later met his wife of 58 years, Yasuko. He is survived by his wife and his daughters Diane and Janet, with his youngest daughter, Sherry, having already passed in the years prior. His also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Shara, Sharisse, Ryan, Presley, Paris, Kekoa, Kaulana, and Armando, along with his great grandchildren Kyliah, Izyiah, Elliah, Josiah, Logan, Olivia, and Ava. John’s memorial service will be held at Palm Northwest Mortuary on March 1, 2020 at 11:00 AM and his entombment will be the following day at the Southern Nevada Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
