Abe Shin Yoo

Mr. Shin Yoo passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 26th, 2023 as a result of complications from stroke. He is survived by his loving wife, Hea Kyung Yoo; children, Yunhee Yoo and Axel Redemann, John Yoo and Yoonnyoung Choi, and Lawrence Yoo; grandchildren, Jayden Yoo, Robin Yoo, and Jack Redemann; a large extended family; and many dear friends.

His love, larger-than-life presence, and boundless spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Yoo was born in Cheolla province, South Korea in 1940 on a farm. He excelled at school and attended Korea University where he studied political science.

His adventurous spirit led him to immigrate to the United States in the 1970s where he successfully started and ran many businesses while investing in real estate with his wife, Hea Kyung.

Their hard work paid off, and Mr. and Mrs. Yoo were able to retire happily in Las Vegas where he was able to swim and play golf while enjoying wine every day. They travelled all around the world together, including Germany, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Alaska, Central America, Caribbean, Hawaii and Mexico. Even in retirement, his intellectual curiosity never waned, and he learned new English phrases daily, taught himself modern technology and read voraciously. He also developed a green thumb, creating a verdant garden oasis in the Las Vegas desert, attracting numerous hummingbirds to build nests in his yard.

Mr. Yoo’s life and his journey to God will be celebrated with a Viewing, Service and Dinner on Sunday, February 5th, 2023.
