

Alice Gould Halkyard, 70, of Las Vegas, NV passed away on June 29, 2012. Alice was born in Denver, CO to Phoebe Whitney Gould and George Orr Phillips. A beautiful woman, she grew up in the Denver area, with experiences ranging from Miss Colorado World 1967, running Fun Valley Ski Area, and stumping the panel on the TV show “What’s My Line?” In 1972 she moved with her family to Las Vegas. She was a retired executive secretary for the gaming industry, having worked many years for the general managers of the Frontier and Stardust casinos. She was chosen employee of the month and year at both casinos. Alice was a member of Canyon Ridge Christian Church. Alice was preceded in death by her mother Phoebe Gould Phillips, her husband William S. Halkyard and her brother John Whitney Phillips. Left to cherish her memory are her children Daniel J. Roy, Jr(Lori) and Kristina Lynn Temple; her brother Daniel Alvord Phillips(Marsha); her grandchildren Sarah Anne Roy, Shannon Danielle Roy, Samantha Kristine Roy, Taren Michelle Temple, Tori Janelle Temple, Tabatha Kristine Temple; and her great grandchild Maverick Joshua James Olson. A memorial service will be held on Monday July 2, 2012 at 10 am Rm C100 at Canyon Ridge Christian Church, 6200 West Lone Mountain Road, Las Vegas, NV, 89130.
