

Allan H. Mills was born in Fort Worth, Texas to Floyd W. Mills, Sr and Zelda Marie Pitt on February 1, 1953. At age 12 he took a job as a Dishwasher and Cleaner. At age 16 he worked at a drive-in movie theater flipping hamburgers. At age 18, he worked at a printing press. His job was to keep the ink wells full by loading 1700 pound rolls on the machines; quite the task.
Allan joined the Navy on July 31, 1973 and retired at 20 Years of service. While on active duty, he was stationed in Guam, Philippines, Maryland, Washington State, California, and Hawaii.
While in the Navy, Allan served in communications as a RadioMan on the USS Constellation CV-64. He then made his way to the Defense Communications Agency Pacific which later became known as DISA-PAC. In his spare time he worked at Wheeler AFB bowling center as a pin setter. Allan, the busy body that he was, also worked at Eagle Hardware store for 11 months immediately after Naval retirement. He went to work as a Communications Specialist in the Navy at the GS-11 level. He was promoted several times over the years ultimately landing the position as the GS-14 Deputy Program Manager for the Lead military department (LMD). After retiring from civil service work, He returned to government life as a contractor fulfilling the role as a Telecommunications Engineer. After fully retiring, finally, from the government and the world of telecommunications, he moved to Vegas with his wife, bought a house and began a new chapter. However, since he didn't know how to sit still, well… he found himself at Nellis AFB and went to work at the commissary as a Merchandiser part-time.
Throughout his life he had a few favorite hobbies. He was a Treasure Hunter and loved to pan for gold! His family called him a Metal Detecting Extraordinaire! His favorite show was Gold Rush! Allan was also a big time Coin Collector. He would spend hours researching coins seeking out their rarities.Allan also loved to travel and explore. He loved the idea of a new frontier. He was a true explorer at heart! Allan had a great time playing those scratch off games, too. He enjoyed knowing that each ticket had the ability to make the impossible possible! He even won a few times!! GO DAD!!! He loved to play all kinds of games. From board games, card games, charades, win lose or draw, mahjong and so much more. He was always ready to play.
Allan was also a certified Boy Scout through and through! He learned many skills as a Scout and he loved fishing, hiking, camping, and more! Lets not forget his love of the game! He truly enjoyed baseball, softball and football. Allan played all throughout his early childhood into his high school years. He was a softball coach for his Daughter Kathy for several seasons. Even taking the Team to the championships several times! Allan also played softball for DCA Pacific during his active duty time in Hawaii. Allan played football throughout his childhood and in high school. He enjoyed watching college and the NFL every season. He was a loyal Dallas Cowboy fan. Allan also enjoyed Racquetball, a sport he played for many years. He was good at it and won many tournaments.
Allan loved his family, his friends, being active outdoors, his cheddar cheez whiz and lets not forget his diet coke! Allan will always be remembered by his funny dad jokes, his contagious laughter, and how he always puts others first. He will also be remembered for being generous, patient, and kind. He was always big on all holidays. He was a dedicated worker, a great provider and the best husband/father anyone could have.
Allans will be deeply missed by His wife of 50 years: Medie Mills, his sister: Loretta Turner, his children: Jeffrey Mills, Kathy Antley and son-in-law Corey Antley, his grandchildren: Dominic Mills-Patrick, Luca Mills-Patrick, Semaj Antley, and Kortney Antley and his Grand pup, Max Antley
He will forever be deeply loved and never forgotten.

A Committal Service will be held at Palm Northwest Mortuary, 6701 N Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131, US, on April 19, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
