“You’ll be with me, like a handprint on my heart” is a line from one of Andie’s favorite songs. And it aptly describes how we all feel today.
After 20 years of illness, our beloved Andrea Michelle Gottfried went home to God on May 25th, less than one week after her 53rd birthday.
Andie was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. Her physical beauty was as pure as her loving heart. She touched many people throughout her short stay with words of encouragement and love.
Andie was not prideful or boastful although she had reason to be. She was an intellect, a gourmet cook and a creative spirit. She was the “phone a friend” you could count on to answer any question on art, music, movies and literature.
We will all miss her great sense of humor, her compassion for others and her strength. But Andie’s spirit will live on in each of us like a handprint on our hearts.
A memorial service will be held at the home Andie’s sister, Erica Gottfried on June 20, 2011 at 6:00. To honor Andie’s life and those who struggle with renal failure, Memorial gifts can be sent to the National Kidney Foundation. You can include a notification to her mother, Iris Gottfried at 2655 West Lake Mead Blvd, #1126, North Las Vegas, NV 89032 and your remembrances will be shared with the family.
rrangements under the direction of Palm Cheyenne Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
