

Arthur Ray Junker, age 80, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on August 2, 2024, at a local hospital. Art was born June 14, 1944, in El Reno, Oklahoma to Harry and Lorene Junker. He grew up in Kemmerer, Wyoming where he graduated high school. In 1963 his family moved to Las Vegas and soon after Art returned to Oklahoma to attend Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology where he earned an Associate degree in Industrial Electronics. He then served in the United States Army from August 1966 to August 1968. Upon returning to Las Vegas, he pursued further education and earned a Master's degree from UNLV in Psychology and thereafter was employed by the Clark County School District as a Licensed School Psychologist. He was dedicated to helping children and often reminisced about his wonderful experiences.
After his retirement in 2011, he enjoyed traveling, fishing and sightseeing, mostly in Wyoming with family and friends. His favorite hobbies and activities were caring for his garden and nature photography.
He is preceded in death by his parents Harry and Lorene Junker and is survived by his brother, two sisters, six nephews, and two nieces. Graveside service will be held at his final resting place at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where he will be buried next to his beloved parents.
