He also served President Carter on the Small Business Administration. Art was a true Las Vegas pioneer and was considered a kind, generous and forthright person by all who knew him. Art loved his family and is survived by his life-long love and wife, of 75 years, Eleanor, "Ellie"; his son, former Las Vegas City Councilman and Mayor, Ron Lurie; his daughter, Wendy (Eddie) Kahn; and was adored as "Papa Art" to surviving grandsons, Ben (Becky) Lurie and E.J. Kahn; granddaughter, Ronda (Adam) Gilburne; and great-grandchildren, Taylor, Emily, Nathan, Asher (Lurie), Jillian and Ryan (Gilburne).
