Arthur G. Wright

Arthur G. Wright, 74, of Las Vegas, passed away Sept. 20, 2010. He was born May 28, 1936, in Hurricane, Utah, the second of six children born to Warren Arthur and Sina Irene Nielson Wright. He lived in Utah, was a 65-year resident of Nevada, and four years in the Seattle area. Art married Katharine Clift in April 1956 in Las Vegas. They were married for 54 years and had three children, Cynthia G., Sandra D. and Richard B. Wright. The family was sealed in the St. George LDS Temple in April 1977. Art was a mechanic, operating engineer and master air conditioning technician. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 501 and Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 525 unions. Art worked most of his career in commercial air conditioning. In 1998, he retired from York International after 30 years of service as a master technician. Art was preceded in death by his parents, Warren Arthur and Sina Irene Nielson Wright; and son, Richard B. Wright. Art is survived by his wife, Katharine Clift Wright; daughters, Cynthia G. Wright (David L.) Jenkins and Sandra D. Wright (Kerry E.) Cutting; daughter-in-law, Melanie Wright (Richard's widow); grandchildren, Daniel (Genae) Jenkins, Steven (Megan) Jenkins, Robert (Heather) Osburn, Lyndsay Osburn, Alexandra Osburn, Richard A. Wright and Jessica D. Wright; great-grandchildren, Anina and Caden Jenkins and Mei Osburn; sister, Allene (Arden) Stratton, Donald Wright, Ronald (Janet) Wright, Norman (Angie) Wright, Neil (Lyn) Wright. He is also survived by stepgrandchildren, Bethany Cutting (Thomas) Limov, Kimberly Cutting, Christopher Cutting, Heather Popejoy (Cody) Hawley and Marissia, Brandon and Ryan Reyes; stepgreat-grandchildren, Thomas Edward Limov, Skylynn and Kyle Hawley. Graveside services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Boulder City Cemetery Pavilion, 501 Adams Blvd. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice.
