Austin Zade Abdelnabi

Austin “Zade” Abdelnabi, 30, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on August 4, 2026, in the line of duty while serving as an officer with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina, Zade was a proud American, Jordanian-American, and Arab who carried his family’s heritage with him throughout his life. Before beginning his career in law enforcement, he proudly served his country as a United States Marine. In 2023, he joined the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, continuing a life dedicated to service, protection, and his commitment to others.

Zade was a beloved husband, son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. He was fiercely loyal, deeply passionate, and never afraid to speak his mind. He had a larger-than-life personality, a strong sense of humor, and a remarkable ability to make an ordinary conversation memorable. Above all, he loved his family and the people closest to him with his whole heart.

Zade was deeply proud of his Arab and Jordanian heritage and of the family and traditions that shaped him. He believed strongly in service, courage, loyalty, and protecting others. A tattoo on his forearm reflected a philosophy that embodied his character: “Let loose your brutality, but never your humanity,” accompanied by the Arabic translation, “أطلق العنان لوحشيتك، لكن لا تتخلى عن إنسانيتك أبدًا.” To Zade, strength and humanity were never opposites.

His family hopes he will be remembered not only for how he died, but for how he lived: with courage, conviction, loyalty, humor, love, and an unwavering commitment to the people he served and the people he loved.

Zade is survived by his beloved wife, Sage Abdelnabi; his Stepson, Sebastian; his mother, Amy Harvey; his father, Ghaleb Abdelnabi; his stepmother, Sana Abdelnabi; his brothers, Ahmad Abdelnabi and Ryan Abdelnabi; his step-brother, Seif Abuteyah; his sister, Janae Koury; his grandfather, Daniel K. Harvey (“Papa Dan”); his aunt, Gwinn Harvey; his cousins, Madison Harvey Rerko and Daniel Harvey; Madison’s husband, Michael Rerko; Daniel’s wife, Brittany Harvey; and Daniel and Brittany’s children, Cooper and Nora. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Carolyn Smith, and his uncle, Mark Harvey.

He served his country. He served his community. He loved his family. He lived by his convictions. And he gave everything he had to protect others.

His legacy will live on through the people he loved, the Marines and officers with whom he served, the community he protected, and the family who will carry his name and memory forward.

His final watch is complete. Rest easy, Zade. Semper Fi.
