Barbara Jane Walsh, 72, of Las Vegas, passed away Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015. She was born Nov. 6, 1942, in Dayton, Ohio, to her parents, Forest and Golda McCoy. After graduating high school, she traveled extensively throughout the world, until meeting her soul mate, Bill, at the World's Fair, in New York, in 1964. Barbara obtained her master's degree in education and went on to teach college, elementary education and was a reading specialist until she retired. Barbara was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family, playing "Words with Friends," bridge, painting and working with clay. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Geri and Rose; brother, Lester; and her son, J.D. She is survived by her husband, of 50 years, Bill; sons, William Jr. and Vincent; daughter, Stevenson (Harper); grandsons, Quinn and Kelton; brother, Larry; two sisters-in-law, Muriel and Susan; and several nieces and nephews. Donations in Barbara's memory may be made to the American Lung Association.
