Beatrice Marie Watson, 89, died Sep. 20, 2015, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Beatrice was born in Wisconsin, Dec. 29, 1925 to Frank and Louise Hammel. She met husband, E. Ray Watson, during World War II. In 1945 they began their adventure of life together as husband and wife. They moved to Southern California after the war where they raised their four children on Shelton St. in Santa Ana, California. Beatrice, along with her husband Ray, was very engaged in parish and school activities and organizations as their children were growing up, both at St. Anne's Catholic Church where the children attended grade school, and at Mater Dei High School where all four children graduated. Everyone who knew Beatrice had the privilege of experiencing the grace and lively energy of a truly loving woman. She would engage anyone in conversation and loved learning all she could about everyone she met. She loved being active. Whether it was raising four children and working at a full-time job, taking part in school activities or caring for family and friends, Beatrice would not stop nor complain. She thrived on staying abreast of current political issues and developments in the community. In the early 1980s, Beatrice and Ray left Santa Ana and moved to Yucca Valley, California, where they owned and operated a successful dry cleaning establishment until Ray's passing in 1990. Afterwards, Beatrice moved to San Diego to be close to her daughter, Sue Tabor. During her years in San Diego, Beatrice kept up her high-level of activity by volunteering with the Retired Senior Volunteer Patrol (RSVP) of the San Diego Police Department and taking the opportunity to travel to Europe, South America, Australia and Hawaii. In 2001 Beatrice followed her daughter's move to Las Vegas, where she once again continued actively volunteering, this time at Summerlin Hospital from 2001 to 2006. Beatrice is survived by her sons, Robert L. Watson and Gary T. Watson, daughter, Sue Ann Tabor, grandson, Ronald Bannister and his wife Barbara and great grandson Matthew. She was preceded in death by her husband, E. Ray Watson, and her son, Ronald R. Watson. Beatrice will be laid to rest with her husband and son in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Orange, California
