When I got the news I was heart broken because I didn't want you to go but then I realized that it was for the better! From your first child to your last great great great grand we all have a piece of you! Sometimes I catch myself saying something you would say or hearing your voice in my head when I do something that you always talked about. Big Momma I promise I am going to make you proud! Everything that I do now is for you! I love you!

Walk in the truth and don't be the lie that has put on the truth and gone forth that what I loved about my big Moma quick witted ,sharp and full of wisdom, like sometimes you got to put a little length on the handle of that spoon I still love but from a distance. Life

I've tried to write this message several times now... And each time I want to stop and wait til later... Knowing that it will never get easier, I press on. I love you BigMomma... You are what held this family together. I often wonder what will we do now, how will we remain a strong family and move forward? Then I remember who we are and how we all have YOU in us.. We are all a part of you. Although I will always remember the sound of your soft spoken voice and how you would take me on a trip every time I asked how you were, my trips to  Las Vegas will never be the same. I miss you so much Big Momma and until we meet again I will try to be the example you laid before us

Who then gave birth to incomparable people who then gave birth to us, the rowdy bunch and now we are carrying on your legacy to this world by givin birth to our own .. Aunt Bernice, I will miss you.  You were always loving and nice to me.  I will always remember, love and appreciate you.

My heart was truly heavy when I learned of your passing.  It seemed unreal.  You were our strength, our rock and the quintessential matriarch of our family.  The strength, love and devotion that you had for your family is instilled in each one of us.  It has shaped who we are as individuals and as a family unit and what a beautiful sight that is.  Your love was and is infinite, overflowing and abundant.  It will live on forever in each one of us. I see its magic working in many ways.  May your beautiful soul and spirit rest in a tranquil, eternal and serene peace.  With all of my love, Big Momma~

Where do I begin to express the qualities of my Big Mama... The queen that had it all. For many years I prayed that when I got your age that I would have ALL of your wisdom and knowledge. God truly blessed our family and you would always remind me of that. I love you and we will meet again! Cover your children, as you always have!!

  SATURDAY MORNING MEMORIES...Early as we rode, hot air balloons filled the sky, BB King and Johnny Taylor played on the radio, and our conversations FILLED OUR SPACE, I knew one day there would be no more Krispy Kreme cake donuts and no more Burger King breakfasts. BUT THANKS FOR MY SATURDAY MORNING MEMORIES.
Our departure times slowly changed from 6:30am to 9:00am. I knew one day there would be no more talks about your childhood, but thanks for my SATURDAY MORNING MEMORIES. 
Our walks through Wal-mart and Vons became slower as your hair turned grayer. I knew the day would come and I would call and you WOULDN'T be there to say "HEY MY JAWS". So Big momma, I just want to say THANKS FOR MY SATURDAY MORNING MEMORIES.

To the GREATEST Grandmother in the world. A woman of strength, courage, dignity,wisdom, wit, pride & so much love. A woman who raised 10 children on her own. A woman with a sweet quiet calm spirit. A woman who taught us to have a relationship with Jesus. A Grandmother who told us to stand together when the world was against us.
