

Betta Norlene Rodriguez, 77, a retired Elementary School Teacher, of Las Vegas, passed away on March 17, 2015. She was born July 24, 1937 in Storm Lake, Iowa, and had been a resident of Nevada for 57 years. It was at Northwest Nazarene University where she met the love of her life and received her Bachelor’s degree. Later, she earned her Master’s degree from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Both degrees were in Education. She was a third grade elementary school teacher for more than 50 years, but being a wife, homemaker and a grandmother was her greatest love. In addition, Betta enjoyed serving the Lord as a Sunday School Teacher, taking RV trips in the western part of the United States, and camping with her family and friends.
Betta is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, David Rodriguez; 2 supportive children, Michael Rodriguez (Jackie) and Renee Eardensohn (Randy); 7 grandchildren, Cameron, Rachel and Mason Rodriguez, Emily Brenneman (Ross), Nick, LeeAnne, and Matt Eardensohn; brother, Dean Meyers (Natalie); and sister, Sharon Rodriguez (Albert). A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 22nd from 5-7pm at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Her funeral services will be on Monday, March 23rd at 11am at Liberty Baptist Church, 6501 W. Lake Mead Blvd., and buried at Bunker’s Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.
