Betty was born on October 9, 1931 at home attended by a midwife in Jacksonville, Florida. She was the daughter of Robert Edward and Viola Taylor Pappy. Betty grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. Betty was raised with two siblings. She had two older half brothers, Paul and Robert, who died at age 8. On December 24, 1950 Betty exchanged wedding vows with Edward Lewis Young at Jacksonville, Florida. Empathic and loyal, Betty was committed to making her new family happy. She is survived by husband Ed, children Karon, Ed Junior and William; son in law Wayne; daughters in law Laura and Kathryn and grandchildren Kevin, Eric, Ethan, McClain, Griffin and Tessa. Services were held at the Acacia Masonic Lodge, 2929 Van der Meer Street, North Las Vegas, Nevada. She was laid to rest at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Veterans Memorial Drive, in Boulder City, Nevada.
