

Bobbie Jean Rasberry was born on June 29, 1933 in Shreveport, Louisiana to parents Eugene Allen (deceased) and Elzetta Davis (deceased). Bobbie was raised by her mother Elzetta Chambers & Step-father John Chambers (deceased) in Long Beach, CA along with her three siblings, Connie Lynch of Long Beach, CA; Paul Youngblood (deceased); and Johnnie Mae Chambers (deceased).
At an early age, Bobbie Jean was baptized in Shreveport, LA and later joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church of Long Beach, CA. Under the pastoralship of Rev. Ralph Mosby, Jr., Bobbie was a very active member, chaired several committees, sang in the Senior Choir, held multiple fundraisers, played a very important role in the start-up of the Young Adult Choir and was not ashamed to let you know how much she loved the Lord.
Bobbie graduated from Long Beach Poly High School at the age of 16 in 1949. In 1952, Bobbie married Emmett Houston and to this union five (5) children were born. She later met Charles Rasberry and married in 1969. Together, Charles and Bobbie raised seven (7) children in Carson, CA. She worked for the Los Angeles Unified School District and retired in 1988 after working several years at Banning High School. During her tenure at LAUSD, Bobbie decided to further her education at Marinella School of Beauty.
