Las Vegas, Nevada — It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Caralynne Holland Rudin, who left us on October 30, 2024, at the age of 86. Caralynne was at home, surrounded by her loving family and cherished dogs, as she departed from this life.
Caralynne’s story began in Boston in 1938, the youngest daughter of Thomas Francis Holland and Helen Dunn Holland, and the fifth of five children. From an early age, she was captivated by the world around her. Accompanying her father to factories repurposed for defense production during WWII, Caralynne developed a passion for business. She also discovered her love for automobiles—a love so bold that she even caught the attention of Boston police while driving her blind aunt at the age of ten. In her teenage years, her family moved to California, where Caralynne would bring her indomitable spirit and adapt to a new culture, forming friendships that would last a lifetime.
In the late 1950s and early 1960s, Caralynne traveled halfway around the world to Turkey with her sister Janice’s family. There, she absorbed the cultures of the Mediterranean and navigated her way through the complexities of a turbulent era. She continued her travels through dozens of countries, collecting unique mementos and sharing remarkable stories with her family—one of her favorites being the privilege of attending Mass at Saint Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican and meeting the pope.
Upon her return from the Middle East, Caralynne found her place in Las Vegas, a city that would become her home for over 55 years. Together with her daughter, Stacy, she built a successful career as a broker in both insurance and real estate, guiding countless clients in their journeys to find a home or establish a business. Her dedication and advocacy for her clients was second only to the love she held for her family.
Caralynne’s family was her greatest pride and joy. She was deeply devoted to her daughter, Stacy, Stacy’s father, Jim, her grandson, Jimmy, her son-in-law, Ron, and her many nieces, nephews, and their children, who all knew her as a supportive, loving presence in their lives. Her love extended to her friends, whom she regarded as family. Caralynne’s beloved dogs—Noelle, Baby, and Koda—were as much a part of her heart as anyone.
Preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Helen, and her siblings, Margaret, Thomas Jr., Janice, and Paul, Caralynne’s passing leaves a deep and irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the St. Anthony of Padua parish and Infinity hospice for their care and support.
Though Caralynne has left this world, her memory and legacy remain steadfast, held in the hearts of all she loved. May we find solace in the warmth of her memory and the everlasting love she gave so freely. Caralynne will forever be loved and missed.
