Words cannot express how saddened we are with the passing of Carl.  He was always cheerful and in such a good mood, even though somewhere in his body, he was hurting.  He was a very special person and will be missed not only by us but everyone whose live's he touched. Carl was a dear friend and we will always treasure the time we had together.  He was taken too soon by our Lord, but I guess he had plans for Carl that we didn't know about.  
You and your family are in our Thoughts and Prayers.

Bonnie and I are sorry to hear of Carl's passing and send our sincere regrets. I hadn't been in touch with Carl for years but see his picture often as for some reason we exchanged picture badges at our 15yr Gates-Chili reunion and it's been in my jewelry box since. We'll miss him! Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I am so sad to hear of Carls passing. We were classmates at Gates Chili. One of my fond memories was when Carl 
"bailed" me out after my mothers car was impounded that I was driving. It was winter, February 1966. A horrible storm. My parents were in the islands and left my sister and I by ourselves. While they were gone, I had the infamous "party". Afterwards I took the car, with no license to take some classmates & their dates home. In short, no cars were to be on the roads, and I was stopped by the police, the car was impounded, friends were taken home by the police, and I was promptly taken to the judges house (at 11 pm) to pay a fine. The car was hauled away to the Bates Garage. I called Carl and he helped me get the car back before my parents got home. At the time it was rather dramatic, but when I think of it today, I have to laugh and shake my head. By the way, I thought I had really pulled one off and saved myself from my parents knowing about the incident. Except that the judge sent a letter to my parents.

The Lynd family will ALWAYS have great memories of the Bates family. They were our neighbors & friends, shared many memoriable times, talking neighbor to neighbor, babysitting. Ceil and family.........I am so, so sorry. It is such a shame to lose touch with friends that were so close. We all go in different directions but you and Carl have often been in my thoughts with so many great memories and yours has always been among my greatest friendships. My prayers are with you all.

Carl was a very good friend who I've known since our days together at Gates Chili HS.. We've stayed in touch and he will be very much missed.

I have many fond memories of my classmate and friend through the years at Florence Brasser School and Gates-Chili Junior-Senior High School.  He will be greatly missed.

We miss our talkss and funny stories  we could count on . sadly missed  we love you. our sympathy  to the family.
