Carla "Cece Semalulukut" Angelica Roman

January 1, 1900 – January 1, 1900
IN THE CARE OF

Palm South Jones Mortuary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carla “Cece Semalulukut” Angelica Roman, who left this world far too soon in Las Vegas, Nevada. Born on April 12, 1977, in Edmonds, Washington, Carla was a radiant spirit who touched the lives of everyone she encountered.

Carla was the cherished daughter of Dolores Diaz Torres and grew up in the heart of Southwest Detroit City, in a loving household that fostered her kindness and generosity. She will be dearly missed by her family, including her beloved children, Angelica I. Roman and Adrian M. Roman, who were the lights of her life. Carla is also survived by her mother, Dolores, her sister, Heather and her brother, Shane, and a multitude of family and friends who adored her fun and adventurous spirit.

Professionally, Carla was a Licensed Funeral Director and Executive Assistant, roles in which she displayed her intelligence, compassion, and unwavering commitment to helping others through their most difficult times. Her career was not just a job; it was a calling, and she approached her work with the same beauty and creativity that characterized every aspect of her life.

Beyond her professional achievements, Carla was a passionate advocate for the preservation of Indigenous languages, demonstrating her dedication to culture and community. She was also a talented Indigenous beadwork artist, using her creativity to weave stories and traditions into each piece she crafted. In her pursuit of personal growth, Carla immersed herself in Krav Maga, embodying the strength and resilience that defined her character.

Those who knew Carla will remember her not only for her artistic talents but for her joyous spirit and her ability to make everyone feel special. She had a unique way of bringing laughter and light into the lives of others, and her adventurous and fun-loving nature inspired those around her to embrace life fully. Carla's fashion sense was an extension of her vibrant personality, marked by a creative personal style that reflected her beautiful, artistic soul.

Carla's funeral services will be private, allowing her family to grieve and celebrate her life in their own way. Although her time with us was cut short, the love and joy she shared will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

In remembrance of Carla Roman, let us honor her legacy by continuing to support Indigenous culture, practicing kindness, and embracing the beauty of life as she did. She may have departed from this world, but her spirit will forever shine brightly in the memories we hold dear.
