With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Carmela "Connie" Borgio, who departed this life on June 23, 2026, at Silverado Memory Care in Las Vegas, NV. Born on January 29, 1939, in New York City, Connie's journey through life was marked by love, dedication, and a vibrant spirit that touched all who knew her.
Connie was the beloved wife of Tony Borgio, with whom she shared an extraordinary 68-year marriage that began on October 27, 1957, in New York. Together, they built a life filled with love and joy, sharing countless memories of dancing, traveling, and entertaining friends and family. Their unwavering devotion to each other was evident to all and serves as a testament to the power of enduring love.
A gifted hair stylist, Connie graduated from the Queens Beauty Institute and embarked on a successful career that spanned New York, New Jersey, and Las Vegas. She was the co-owner of Elle et Lui Salon in New Jersey and was celebrated for her talent, notably winning the grand prize at a prestigious competition sponsored by the Atlantic City Hairdressers Association. Her creativity and passion for her craft left a lasting impact on her clients and colleagues alike.
Connie's love for the water was infectious, and she was an exceptional swimmer who found joy both in pools and the ocean. Her dedication to her family was unparalleled, particularly in her role as a mother to her daughter, Toni Maria. When it was discovered that Toni had special needs, Connie tirelessly ensured she had every opportunity available, advocating for her education and enrichment with unwavering commitment. Toni fondly remembers the summers spent riding horses at a camp in upstate New York, a testament to Connie's nurturing spirit.
Throughout her life, Connie found solace in her faith, often visiting the nearby Catholic Church as a child. Her connection to God provided her with strength and peace, which she shared with those around her through her kindness and compassion.
Connie is survived by her devoted husband Tony, their cherished daughter Toni Maria, as well as her beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends and former colleagues. She was predeceased by her loving grandparents, mother, stepfather, stepsisters Marie and Theresa, and their first child, a boy, who died before birth.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on August 7, 2026, at 1:00 PM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, located at 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89128.
