Carmen was born in San Antiono, Texas, December 11, 1941, to Robert & Maria Mendez.
She was raised with her 7 brothers and 1 sister. Carmen married Jim Davis on October 18th, 1958, and they raised 4 children in Whitter, California until moving to Las Vegas in 1974. She worked for Clark County Housing Authority for a short time before focusing on her passion of purchasing property. Carmen was an entrepreneur always looking for ways to better life for her and Jim. She managed rental properties up until her passing.
At a young age, Carmen and Jim purchased raw land near Nellis Air Force Base, with a dream to start a business of their own, Davis Auto Wrecking. They installed the first telephone poles in the area and continued to purchase more land. Today the land where their business once stood continues to develop with Industrial Complex's, and the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. She was proud of what she accomplished, always dreamed big, and looking on how to start something new, even up to her final days she was looking to buy more property.
Carmen's favorite accomplishment was her family; she is survived by 3 children, James Jr. (Jimmy), daughters, Desiree, Lori and deceased son Douglas Davis. She has 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
