Carmen was the devoted widow of Donald E. Kitchen Sr., with whom she shared many loving years. Together, they raised two sons, Edward and Don “Billy”, who were the pride and joy of her life.
Carmen always had a listening ear and a caring heart. Among her family, she was affectionately known as “CNN” — always up to date, always connected, and always ready to share news and stories with warmth and humor. Her love of conversation and deep interest in others made everyone feel seen and valued.
A lifelong caregiver, Carmen was the proud owner of Kiddie Kampus Daycare, where she nurtured generations of children with love, patience, and kindness. Her caring nature and unwavering commitment to others left a lasting mark on all who knew her.
Carmen’s greatest joy came from her family. She is survived by her sons — Edward Kitchen (Debra) and Donald “Billy” Kitchen Jr. (Carol) — cherished grandchildren — Shiane Dunlap (Joe), Eddie Kitchen, Kaelynn Kitchen, Hayden Roper, and Thomas Kitchen — beloved great-grandchildren, Lincoln and Hazel, and nieces, nephews, and extended family who all brought her endless happiness.
She will be remembered for her generous heart, gentle strength, quick wit, and the love she shared so freely with all who crossed her path.
Carmen will be laid to rest beside her husband in Goldfield, NV on November 15, 2025 at 1:00pm. A viewing will be held that day at 9:00am at Palm Downtown Mortuary in Las Vegas. Family and friends are also invited to a gathering on November 14th in Las Vegas.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to your local animal shelter or turtle rescue as she had a great love for all animals, especially turtles.
