Charles Lawrence Brandt, 74, of Las Vegas, passed away December 4, 2017. He was born May 4, 1943 in Great Barrington, Mass to Charles and Gertrude Brandt. Charles grew up in Copake Falls, NY and graduated from Roeliff Jansen Central School in 1960. He worked for the New York Central RR as a locomotive fireman and engineer from 1961 to 1970. Charles then moved to Las Vegas, NV and attended Clark County Community College. He graduated with high honors and obtained a degree in Casino Management. He was a Keno Manager at Landmark Hotel for 15 years. In 1994 he was a Keno Manager at Avi Hotel where he retired in 2008. Charles was a member and president of Friends of the Southern Nevada Railway and a member of the National Railway Historical Society. He is survived by his cousin Ken Brandt of Florida. Charles will be missed by his friends. A Celebration of Life will he held at the Southern Nevada Railroad Museum in Boulder City, NV in the spring of 2018.
