Charles D Hopper passed away suddenly on Friday Nov 14, 2025, at Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, NV. Charles was born in Denver, Colorado on October 16th, 1966. He was raised in Weatherford, Texas by his wonderful and loving parents Charles W. and Marcelle (de Leleu) Hopper who both precede him in death. Charles is survived by his loving wife, Jill Yacubovich of Las Vegas, Nevada and brother Dr. Ken (Bubba) Hopper of Fort Worth, Texas and Bentonville, Arkansas.
D had a booming voice, contagious laughter, and ability to encourage and influence all that he met starting in his early years. He was a gifted athlete, musician, and student. Graduating from Weatherford High School in 1985, D continued his education in an impressive way. He followed in the footsteps of older brother, Bubba, and attended Baylor University where he earned both an undergraduate degree in Political Science in 1989 and a master’s degree in international business in 1990. D then continued his educational journey in Oklahoma where he earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Oklahoma City University School of Law followed by attending Georgetown School of Law for a master’s degree in international law.
After completing his education, D married and relocated to Las Vegas where he began his impressive law career with Thorndahl Backus where he found his mentor Gene Backus and dear friend and colleague Janice Marshall. D was always inspired to help others throughout his life and with this experience and guidance was able to do so by creating a law firm that helped those with minor criminal offences then being a founding partner in Lynch, Hopper, & Salzano where they helped countless Las Vegas and Hawaii residents with construction defect complaints. D was a member of the Nevada Conservation League where he served as a board member and a former Deputy Attorney General for the state of Nevada. D, outside of his professional accomplishments, was a lover of everything sports, John Wayne, and proud to be in the process of becoming a member of St. Joseph Husband of Mary Roman Catholic Church.
Charles D Hopper died suddenly and unexpectedly but his was a full life well lived. He loved his wife, his family, his dog Jasper, his friends, and his Cowboys with everything that he had. D’s smile, encouragement, and amazing hugs will live on through many for generations to come.
