Charles Chuck E. Whitaker Jr.

Charles "Chuck" Earl Whitaker Jr., 53, was born Oct. 29, 1959 in Toledo, Ohio, to the union of Charles Earl Whitaker Sr. (deceased) and Delores A Owens-Whitaker of Las Vegas. He passed from this life Friday, Nov. 9, 2012. Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Joe and Sarah (Nana) Whitaker; and step-grandmother, Saphronia Whitaker. Chuck attended public schools in Toledo, Ohio and Las Vegas, Nevada and graduated from Western High School in Las Vegas. He started working in the casino industry for many years. At the time of his death, he was employed at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino as a Floor Supervisor. The memories of Chuck will linger on as a result of his warm, happy spirit and his inspiration to others. He leaves us fond memories of what a wonderful, strong and inspiring person he was. He is survived by his mother, Delores Owens-Whitaker of Las Vegas; sisters, Denise Whitaker and Debra Cooks, of Las Vegas and Dana Whitaker-Hunt of Richland, Washington; uncles, Joe Del Whitaker and Gary Page of Las Vegas and Henry Anthony Whitaker of Mesa, Arizona; aunts, Barbara Salmond, of Toledo, Ohio, Angie Cohen, of Columbus, Ohio and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, with funeral services following, and visitation continuing afterwards from noon-5 p.m., all at Palm Mortuary 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Arrangements under the direction of Palm South Jones Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
