Cheryl Lynn Porter

Cheryl Lynn Porter, age 65, of Las Vegas, passed away Monday, December 4, 2017 at her home. Born July 2, 1952 in Portland, Oregon, she lived in Los Angeles, Fresno and Tulare, California before moving to Las Vegas in 2012. Cheryl worked with the Tulare Union School District, teaching at Kohn Elementary School, retiring in 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon Kirstein and Wilma (Albert) Todd, step-son Issa Ausberry. Cheryl is survived by her husband, Arthur Ausberry; children Phillip Van (Jill) Porter, Jr., Andrew Joseph (Kristen) Porter and Corban James (Melissa) Porter; grandsons, Tre, Eli, Gabriel, Jethro, Asher and Miles; step-mother, Joyce Kirstein; brother, Bill (Janis) Kirstein. Funeral service will be held 12:30pm Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Shadow Ridge Ward, 8525 N. Thom Rd., where family will receive friends from 11am until 12:30pm. Interment, Palm Northwest Cemetery.
