I'm Clay's cousin. Growing up we lived a block apart and therefore spent time together frequently. While our parents were alive we spent many enjoyable and memorable Thanksgivings together with our extended family and friends. Clay will be greatly missed.

I was lucky enough to know Clay in high school at Basic, to play football with him and to start a lifelong friendship with him. We worked together at the NTS for years and in January of 2001 that friendship would save my life. He noticed that I was looking a bit pale and insisted on taking me to the medics, turned out I was having a heart attack. I owe my life to Clay and thank my lucky stars for having known him most of my life. My prayers go out to his wife, daughters and grandchildren. May you rest in peace my friend.
