
Allen was born on September 25, 1940, in Belvidere, Illinois, to Clyde A. Worf and Ruby Mae Worf (née Thompson). From an early age, Allen developed the friendly, outgoing nature that would become one of his defining characteristics throughout his life. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people from all walks of life, forming genuine friendships rooted in mutual respect, kindness, and understanding. Whether meeting someone for the first time or maintaining lifelong relationships, Allen made people feel valued and welcome.
A lifelong commercial electrician, Allen took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic, craftsmanship, and willingness to share his knowledge. He enjoyed teaching members of his family practical skills and passing along lessons learned throughout his career.
Family was the center of Allen's life. He deeply loved his son, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable joy and were truly the highlight of his later years. He cherished every opportunity to spend time with them and took great pride in watching his family grow.
Allen was also an avid golfer and found some of his happiest moments on the golf course, especially playing alongside his son, Jeff, at Wolf Creek Golf Club in Mesquite, Nevada. He also enjoyed playing golf at the Highlands Golf Course in Elgin, Illinois with his son and grandson. He was a devoted fan of the Chicago Bears and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite team. At home, he enjoyed the companionship of his cats, especially Boots, who always seemed to know exactly when Allen could use a furry friend nearby.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde A. and Ruby Mae Worf; his sister, Arlene; his beloved first wife, Anne Worf; and his beloved second wife, Carol Worf.
He is survived by his son, Jeff (Donna) Worf; his grandchildren, Maris (Ben Fitch) Worf and Aaron Worf; his great-grandchildren, Macie Fitch and Monroe Fitch; and his step-son, Jerry (Colleen) Symonds; and his daughter-in-law. He also leaves behind many extended family members, friends, and acquaintances whose lives were enriched by his warmth, humor, generosity, and friendship.
Allen's legacy is one of kindness, connection, hard work, and love for family. He will be remembered not only for the friendships he built wherever he went, but also for the lasting impact he made on those fortunate enough to know him. His presence will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
