Consuelo S. Andrews of Las Vegas passed away peacefully on May 27th, 2025 after fighting like a warrior through a long health battle. She slipped into the arms of the angels for her final rest with her 3 daughters by her side.
In her 91 years, Consuelo lived a full life. She held several jobs including proudly serving as the Executive Assistant to The Chief of Police of Fairfax County, Fairfax, VA. Something she was passionate about was being of service to others. As the wife of an Air Force Officer and Squadron Leader, she always graciously took the spouses under her wing and was there for support and friendship. She was gracious with her time as she actively served as a counselor for AIDS Support Groups, Lighthouse and several other organizations.
Always being there to lend an ear and guidance to others cultivated lifelong friendships from places she and her husband lived all over the world – From Portugal, Panama, Italy and many cities in the United States. Consuelo faced life with the determination that would rival the fiercest gladiator. She could do anything, make anything happen, and at the end of the day, put on the most delicious family dinner. Consuelo was an incredible host and always the life of every party.
She enjoyed, Knitting, Crocheting, Sewing, Cooking, Reading, Doing Crosswords (NY Times!) Thrifting, Music, Traveling, Food, Jewelry and Church. She Adored her Friends and Family.
To All who knew them, Consuelo and her late husband Melvin, were 2 of the most generous and caring people. They were devoted parents, grandparents, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, friends and caregivers. They were always there and willing, no matter the need or who needed it.
Consuelo is reunited with her beloved late Husband, retired LTC Melvin Ray Andrews, Jr. and Daughter Velda Irene Bertocci. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Mary Andrews, Suzanne Andrews (Zernie Moses), and Kelly Andrews along with her cherished grandchildren, Casey Stuper (Paul Scruton), Robert Stuper, Haley Miranda (Joao Miranda), and Bethany Andrews, Her sister Dora Barnett, brother Joe Sanchez and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
