Corey Whitney Morley, 63, of Las Vegas, Nevada, was larger than life—a man who worked hard, played harder, and built his world around the people he loved most. On January 16, 2025, he left this world, but his spirit and the legacy of a life lived BIG will carry on.
Born on September 21, 1961, in Henderson, Nevada, at St. Rose De Lima Hospital, Corey grew up with a fearless drive to make every moment count. He graduated from Western High School 1979 and went on to UNLV before earning his associate’s degree from Antelope Valley College in 1982, where he was part of a championship-winning football team and a one-man golf team. From the start, Corey was a guy who didn’t just show up—he made his presence felt.
In 1982, Corey returned to Las Vegas and got his hands dirty, working alongside his Uncle Leon at the Chrome Shop at Magic Wand. Soon after, he joined Pipes Paving, where he spent more than two decades leaving his mark across the city he called home. Even after a brief retirement in 2008, Corey couldn’t sit still. He came back stronger in 2015, founding Morley Grading with his son CJ and proving that building something lasting wasn’t just his work—it was his calling.
But Corey wasn’t just about work. He was a man who went all in on life. An avid golfer, Corey made history on August 5, 1989, smashing a 412-yard Long Drive, earning his spot in the Guinness Book of World Records. Sponsored by Yonex Golf, he spent weekends flying to competitions, balancing his career and family like the pro he was.
In 2022, Corey fulfilled a lifelong dream by creating the “Morley Compound,” a haven where his family could come together. It isn’t just a home—it is a place filled with love, laughter, and endless memories. Whether it was fishing with his grandpa’s trusted Blue Fox lure, or leading a Trump Boat Parade on Lake Mead, Corey lived unapologetically, embracing every adventure with gusto.
Family was Corey’s everything. Every hour he worked, every decision he made, every record he broke—it was all for them. He built a life where his children and grandchildren could thrive and carried them on his shoulders through every twist and turn.
Corey is survived by:
• His wife of 39 years and the love of his life, Sally Ann Morley
• His son CJ Morley, daughter-in-law Katherine Morley, son-in-law David Carrier
• His grandchildren: Jack Carrier, Whitney Morley, Shepherd Morley, Nash Morley, Remington Morley and Tuff Morley,
• His father, Carl Morley
• His mother, Leela King
• His brothers, Patrick Morley and Christopher Morley
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Meagan Elizabeth Morley
A celebration of Corey’s remarkable life will take place on February 1, 2025, from 2 PM to 5 PM at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Course.
Corey was a man who didn’t just live—he thrived. He was bold, unfiltered, and always ready to take on the world with a smile and a can-do attitude. He taught his family to dream big, love deeply, and never back down. He was a husband, a father, a Pop Pop, and a legend in the eyes of everyone who knew him.
