It saddens us to announce that Dale Petzel, beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, neighbor, and friend has passed away at the age of 90 this past weekend.
Amidst this great loss, however, we cannot help but feel a sense of gratitude for the long, full, beautiful life he was granted.
From a young age Dale demonstrated a strong work ethic, an immutable sense of morality, selflessness, humility, and a charming sense of humor - which served to inform his esteemed military service, as a Corporal in the Marines, as well as his 32 year long career as an engineer with GM.
Following his retirement in 1998, Dale was finally able to achieve his dream of escaping Michigan winters by moving to Las Vegas, Nevada - where he was able to dedicate time to his cherished hobbies, like bowling and golfing, and to devote himself to nurturing his faith as an enthusiastic participant in his church - and where he fostered relationships that remained so important to him until the very end.
We invite you to join us in remembering Dale every time you encounter something in your home that he fixed for you, and to know in your heart that Dale’s use of his handy-man skills for others was just one of the many ways he expressed just how much he cared.
Dale will be laid to rest back in Michigan, with the utmost honor and respect that a life lived such as his deserves.
With love from Dale’s family:
Eileen Petzel, wife of 65yrs
William and Dennis Petzel
Daughters Denise, Janice, & Cindy
Grandchildren Jillian, Jenna, Bradley & Logan
Great-grandchildren Benjamin, Victoria & Amelia
