

U.S. Army Veteran Daniel Felder was born on February 7, 1947, in Richmond, CA, to the parents Johnie Felder and Bettie Mae Ammons. In this family, Daniel had an older sister and two younger brothers. He attended elementary and junior high scFhool in San Pablo, CA. In 1963, he graduated from Richmond High School in Richmond, CA. Daniel was very athletic in every aspect of his life. He worked at Port Chicago Shipyard in Concord, CA. In 1966, Daniel was drafted into the U.S. Army as an AMEDS assignment, where he was awarded The 450 Club Certificate and the National Defense Service Medal for Marksman Rifle (M-14). Doing his younger days, Daniel was nicknamed “Chief Crazy Horse” by one of his friend’s parents who recognized his leadership amongst his friends. In May 1973, Daniel started his employment of 35 years with the Santa Fe Railroads, which was later renamed Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroads (BNSF), where he built his career from the track gang to conductor. While working at BNSF, he was also assigned as a conductor for Amtrak. Daniel became a girl’s dad in December 1966. Then, eight years later, he became a girl’s dad again in July 1974 — of which he took pride in loving and caring for his daughters and did all he could while taking them everywhere because he loved being a dad. In July 1979, while attending a business convention in Scottsdale, AZ, Daniel, from Oakland, CA, met his wife, Darlene, from Lothian, MD. By August 1979, he proposed, closing the distance in their relationship as she moved to CA. They were married in August 1980, just ten days after welcoming their son. In July 1984, their baby daughter was born to complete the immediate family. To this union, they were married for 45 years. He was loved by his extended family in Maryland and as a brother-in-law, uncle, great-great uncle, and cousin. Daniel was devoted in every aspect of his life, from being a son to being a great-granddad. He became the first adult student and attained his 1st Degree Black Belt at Soaring Eagles Taekwondo Academy of Vallejo, CA, where he competed, winning ten medals and loving every form he was taught. Along with his love of taekwondo with his youngest daughter and baseball with his son, he loved watching his favorite team, “Go Raiders!” He enjoyed jogging, reading, Motown, and watching old movies and westerns. His heart’s desire was a new Porsche, which he got to drive in 2022. He was best known as a lawn developer because he would have the greenest front yard in every neighborhood he lived in. In 1999, Daniel gave his life to The Lord at Revival Center of Vallejo, CA, where he served as a Deacon until he and Darlene moved to North Las Vegas, Nevada, in July 2021, where the family grew even closer with their neighbors. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bernard Felder. Daniel is survived by his wife, Darlene Felder; his son, Damon Felder; his daughters, Dina Felder, Danielle Felder, and Dannetta Harris; son-in-law, Tyrese Harris; granddaughters, Kimmie James and Bri’Shanae Butler; grandson, Tyrese E. Harris; great-grandsons, La’Bron and Cam’Ron Loggins; sister, Helen Brockman; brother, Ray Wayne Felder; niece, Nicole Brockman; and great-niece, Morgan Love — along with a host of friends and extended family.
