Daniel Armond Leo

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Daniel Armond Leo at age 73. Born April 13, 1952 to Daniel Anthony Leo and Nonnina Marie Merluzzi, he was raised in a big Italian family in Syracuse, New York. After his Dad’s passing, Danny and his Mom followed his Uncle Armond, Aunt Chris, and cousins, Linda Belew and Marisa Sanderson to Las Vegas , where he has lived for 50 years. He made a good living in the food and beverage industry working at the original MGM, the Golden Nugget, the Sands, the Mirage, and finally at the MGM Grand, where he retired several years ago as a bartender at the pool. He was famous for his signature cocktails where he entertained guests with his wry sense of humor. People were attracted to Danny because he was fun and made you laugh and as a result he had many lifelong friends.

He married Paula Kay Paulk in 1985 and they raised three wonderful children Corinne Ann Cooper (Jarred), Nannina Marie Leo (Stephen Holloway), and Daniel Anthony Leo. He has three grandchildren, Violet and Lydia Cooper and Leo Holloway.

Danny was a great cook, avid gardener, lover of nature and the outdoors, rode and designed his Harley motorcycles, and in the day was an expert skier. He loved sports, especially the Yankees and the Runnin’ Rebels where he, Mike Mount and Doug Sanderson were well known for their antics at the games. Danny played the piano at a young age and the organ in a band in high school. His love of music is one of the notable legacies to his children. He was a big fan of tattoos and had many of great meaning, but the one that sums up Danny the most is his motto “I wasn’t born to follow.” We are heartbroken to lose a devoted father and grandfather, cousin, and friend so suddenly and too soon.

Visitation for Daniel will be on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 1:00PM followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00PM at Palm Northwest Mortuary, 6701 N Jones Boulevard, Las Vegas, NV 89131 followed by a committal service at Palm Northwest Cemetery, 6701 N Jones Boulevard, Las Vegas, NV 89131
