My condolences to the kearleys and zizzo families. She was my best friend and lover almost 13 years. I pushed her to become the amazing independent woman she is. I kept her away from bad things and people.  We were supposed to have gotten married. She was going to give me a child. I was very irresponsible.  She was truly the most awesome person I ever met. My life hasn't been the same since. I'm successful but haven't been with another girl. It sucks I was probably a secret. But I miss you everyday cupcake that's what I called her. I just wanted to get these things off my chest.

There is so many things about Darlene that I feel I need to be shared with everyone who knew Darlene. Especially to her friends who didn't know her before she moved to Vegas.


I meet Darlene in the fall of 1983. We both started Cosmetology school our Junior year in High School at DAVEA. It is a Vocational school for high School students in Du Page County IL. We were from different High School,but we just "happen" to sit next to each other the first day of school. As the year when by we got to know each other better. We were both surprised to find out that we has the same birthday. I know that is part of the reason why we felt such a strong bond to each other. Then we discovered that my parents and her Dad and and Sharon shared the same Wedding Anniversary. I wanted to join and organization called VICA(Vocational Industrial Clubs of America). They had a state competition that I thought, if I did well in it would look good to future employers. Darlene hear me talk a lot about the club and the competitions that was down in Springfield IL. Even thought I think Darlene signed up mostly for the chance to have a wild weekend away from home, We both worked hard to prepare for the competition,we when to Springfield,and Darlene took first at State in our competition. She was a truly a great Hair Stylist. This just goes to show you that when she sets her mind to something she puts her whole heart into it. 


You also may not know it was while she was working as a hair Stylist that she met Tom. He was a client of hers.From what remember they were only dating for about 6 weeks when Tom proposed.They got married in June of 1988,I was in there wedding,then Mark and I got married in September of 1988, and they were both in our wedding. 


Then Tom and Darlene moved to Vegas,at first it was hard for us to stay close because of the distance. But we did our best to stay in touch. By time I had my daughter she was a experienced Mom and I would call her for advice.


I admired her so much for going back to school to become a Nurses. It must have been such hard work,with to young kids. But,again once she puts her mind to something she puts her whole heart into it.


Then we could say the same for the way she took care of her dogs. She put her whole heart in to the rescue organization.


She loved her family,her friends,and paid more attention to everyone but herself. 


I wish I would have had a chance to tell her how much I loved her while she was still her on earth!.

Rest in Peace Dar, you were the life of every party! You will be missed by so many. Thoughts and prayers for all the family, keep the good memories close to your heart.

Dar. It hurts so much to say goodbye. You and Tom have been the best friends anyone could ask for. We have had so many great times over the years. We will cherish every one of them. We will miss your smile and hearing you laugh. We have been truly blessed to have you as our friend. You have left footprints on our hearts that will never be matched by anyone. We can take comfort in knowing that you are now in God's loving arms. Tom, Tommy, and Melanie we love you guys so much. It hurts that we can't be with you in Vegas right now. We hope to see you soon. Until then know that you are all in our prayers as well as the rest of Dar's family and friends. Goodbye Dar, our dear sweet friend. You will be sorely missed. We love you.

My thoughts and prayers are with darlenes children ( Tommy and melanie)and her family my uncle Joe and aunt Sharon, my cousins Dena, joey, gina, Kevin and jenny and their familys. My love goes out to all her family and friends for their loss.

I will miss the mornings Dar would come in to get her nails done with her scrubs on after her shift at work. Even in her scrubs she looked so cute. I will miss her funny stories and her contagious laugh. Sometimes I would make her repeat stories I heard before just to laugh again with her. My thoughts and prayers are with family....

I remember when I first met Dar with my brother Tom and how happy they both were to be together, I was there when Tom proposed to her as well and witnessed the excitement of her Happiness as she said yes. I remember the happiness she had at the news that she was pregnant with both Tommy and Melanie. I will always remember the happiness she brought into the lives of those she touched and remember her fun loving ways and the way she loved her family. Dar you will be missed.

Dar was an amazing person, I didn't get the chance to know her for long vut everytime I saw her she always made me laugh even on my worst of days. She told me to always live my life to the fullest and always follow my dreams. I shall do exactly that for her. We love and miss you Dar, you're in a better place with God keeping safe from pain and fear. I know you will be looking down on all of us.

It is just crazy how similiar we are; from the paint colors in our houses, to the way we laugh, and how we try so hard to enjoy life to the fullest. I wish that your beautiful life did not come to an end this way but I am trying to find peace in knowing that you are no longer suffering in this world that we live in. I promise to live the rest of my days through your love and passion for life, to keep me strong and always moving forward towards my goals. To my dear dear cousin; I can remember when I was little, going way out into the 'far suburbs' to visiy my little baby cousin Darlene. It was a few days after Christmas. You just got your new Baby Catch A Ball and you were all excited. In typical Darlene fashion you were the center of attantion. When you got older you could run your bigger boy cousins into the ground with your seemingly unlimited energy. The years since have evaporated like the delicate breath of a butterfly, and memories seem transpatant as spectors in a mirror, but they're not. My memories of you are as solid as marble. Although we both lived in Bensenville for a long time our lives took us in different directions so for years we didn't see much of each other, but I never forgot about my little cousin Darlene. Even though distance and time have separated us believe me that it NEVER can break the bonds that we created those many years ago. Although our paths haven't crossed for many years please know that you were never forgottten and always loved. Another little part of me has just departed, and I now must await the day when we'll all be reunited. When that day comes we'll have a long talk to catch up on things. To those of us left to deal with this loss please know that you are always loved, and you can contact me at ANY TIME for ANY REASON. The door is always open.

My sweet baby niece...how I loved your smile, your laugh and your humor.  Your eyes and smile always lit up every room and heart.  You always had such a love of life, people and animals.  I only wish that we didn't live so far apart and that we could have spent more time together.  God bless you baby, I know that I will see you again in a better place.  Knowing you, you will be the first to greet me with your loving smile and a big hug.

I have so many fun memories with Darlene,and so many laughs. I have missed her so much since her and Tom left Illinois. Even though we didn't see each other, or talk as often I will always have my friend Darlene in my heart and in my many memories forever XOXO

Darlene was not only a Nurse for children but a nurse for dogs.  Being a foster mom she often took on the weakest of the fosters and those needing extra care. She was a loving Mom, Wife, a very good friend an d I'll miss her everyday and think of her every time a see a Dachshund.
