

Darryl E. Thompson Sr. was born Jan 17th, 1953, in Pittsburgh, PA to Henry and Erma Thompson. He graduated from Taylor Allderdice High School where he enjoyed playing the violin and was best known for his athletic skills where he became the MVP of his baseball team.
After graduating from Taylor Allderdice High School, Darryl moved to Atlanta, GA to further his education at Clark Atlanta University. This is where he then met and married his beautiful, loving wife Gloria D. Thompson (Lawrence). They had two lovely children Tiffany Carter and Darryl Thompson Jr. and seven grandchildren.
Darryl was a great husband, charming son, wonderful father, amazing grandfather, competitive brother, caring uncle, loving family man and a dear friend to all.
He loved playing golf, chess, card games, board games, listening to music, and watching old “VHS” classic movies. He was also a hard worker and a dedicated employee where he worked at the Venetian Casino and Hotel until he retired in 2014.
Preceding him in his wake of life: His father Henry “Papa” Thompson Sr. Darryl leaves behind to cherish his life, spirit and love by his devoted, loving wife Gloria D. Thompson, Mother Erma Thompson, daughter Tiffany Carter (Anthony Sr), son Darryl Jr. (Shalita), seven grandkids- Khalyse, Anthony Jr, Torynn, Jeremiah, Freya, Leilah, Darryl III (bambam). Two brothers Henry Jr (Verrida) and Kevin Thompson, sister and brother in -laws (Henry and Bernice Frazier, Willie Lawrence, Charles and Paulette Lawrence, Larry and Mattie Jackson) and a host of other relatives and friends.
