Daryle was born on January 19, 1963, in Memphis, TN to Gerald and Betty Moncrief. He grew up in Memphis before enlisting in the Air Force and retiring in Las Vegas, NV.
From a young age, he was an avid sports fan and a very loyal follower of the University of Memphis Tigers, especially basketball. His love for the Tigers was closely followed by a passion for the St. Louis Cardinals.
Daryle was passionate in his support of his country and the USAF, ultimately retiring as a Master Sergeant in June 2007. After retirement, he continued to serve his country in a civil service position at Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center.
During his tenure with the USAF, he served several tours of duty including time in Afghanistan and Turkey. Despite the difficulties of deployment, there was always a light in his eye when he reflected on his time abroad and the friends he made.
To those that knew him, it is no shock that he made so many friends regardless of the situation. He had an impeccable wit and could turn almost any comment into a joke or a turn of phrase. Even in difficult moments he found a way to find a reason to laugh and smile.
Daryle is predeceased by his parents, Gerald Grady Moncrief and Betty Hughes Moncrief, and his brother, Gerald W. Moncrief, all of whom resided in Memphis, TN. He is survived by his sisters, Trish M. Hopkins (Mickey) of Memphis, TN, Paula M. Seaton (Jim) of Memphis, TN and his two sons, Zachary Moncrief (Bill) and Austin Moncrief, both of whom reside in Las Vegas, NV.
Services for Daryle are being arranged at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, NV. Please contact Zach or Austin Moncrief for details.
