David served for many years as a volunteer firefighter, answering the call with steady resolve and a deep sense of duty. During 9/11, he volunteered as a firefighter, offering his time and strength when it was needed most—an enduring reflection of a life shaped by service.
To those who knew him best, David’s greatest devotion was always his family. He carried that love into the everyday moments—gatherings close to home, conversations that lingered, and the simple joy of BBQing together. He also had a gift for making friends wherever he went; strangers rarely stayed strangers for long, drawn in by his friendly nature and the easy humor of a true jokester.
David is survived by his wife, Marissa Bliss; his children, Abigail Flores, Arleigh Perez, Alma Perez, Arlene Perez, Luke Bliss, and Maga Bliss; his grandchild, Alize Anguiano; and his sisters, Margaret Shipp, Marilyn Bliss, and Deborah Brunk.
