David Samuel Migotti, born in Norfolk, Virginia, on August 19, 1967, loving husband of Joy Largusa Migotti, and beloved son of Alfred Migotti and LaJauna McKenzie, died suddenly on June 24, 2021 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was 53 years old.
David, a graduate of Alisal High School, earned a Bachelor of Science in Counseling with an emphasis in Addiction, Chemical Dependency, and Substance Abuse at Grand Canyon University with honors. David’s achievements include graduating with the highest distinction of “Summa Cum Laude” which is a GPA (grade point average) of 3.8 and above, and a class rank in the 95th percentile or above in college. As both an undergraduate and graduate student, David was placed on the President’s List nearly every quarter for receiving all A’s demonstrating a commitment to academic excellence. He was also a graduate student in the Master’s Degree program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling for LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor). David aspired to use his professional license to help others struggling with addiction and/or mental health issues.
David lived in Salinas, California, before moving to Las Vegas to be with the love of his life, Joy Largusa Migotti. David and Joy’s love story goes back to when they were teenagers and met in Honolulu, Hawaii. Years later, it was fate that brought these two back together. They were inseparable and shared a love that was very beautiful. What made it so beautiful was the blended family they shared together and David called his family, “The Migotti Bunch” referring to the TV show, “The Brady Bunch”. David was the happiest when the entire family was all together.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to David. He lived by the saying, “Be thankful for what you have.” He was very kind and loving to all. David walked the walk and always wanted the best for everyone, even if he didn’t know the person. He always lifted people up and had a smile. David’s sincere smile and willing heart made every stranger a friend, and every friend, family.
David was also a fun and goofy guy who kept people rolling in laughter because he could find humor in the most mundane life circumstances. He had such a big spirit and his fun personality was contagious to everyone he met. He loved to sing and dance, and was the life of the party. David’s cheerful attitude, bright smile, vivacious and giving spirit will be missed by many.
A word that best describes David is “Family Man”. He valued his family very much. David had so much love for everyone, but when it came to his family, David’s love was of pure and unconditional love. His entire family meant everything to him. From his wife, to his children, to his parents, siblings, and family members, David had more than enough love to give to all. He devoted much of his time and energy as a caregiver to his mother, and was a proud new papa to his grandson, Isaiah.
David, the loving husband, son, father, and grandfather is survived by his wife, Joy Largusa Migotti; mom, LaJauna McKenzie; dad, Alfred Migotti; step mom, Carolyn Migotti; brothers, Mark Migotti, Keith Migotti (Laura); sister, Vicky Migotti Stanko (John); and his loving children, Adrian (Britta); Joshua (Ashley); Jestyn (Maria), Noah, Hannah, Emmah, and Jhayda; grandson, Isaiah, his loving dog, Kai, and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and relatives. He is predeceased by his son, Austin Migotti; and stepfather, Russell McKenzie.
