Hello, My name was Delbert Hall.I lived in Vegas for 14 yrs.I was good friends with a Dennis Whipple.I don't  know why, I was just thinking about him today 1/14/26.If this is him,his Mom use to make us cinnamon  rolls after we got off the bus from school.We did alot of crazy things back in our younger days! The picture really looks like he would look at his age.I will be 74 in a few days.My name now is Delbert Ward, DEL . I am really sorry about his passing.

He was so good to all of us kids at Quannah Mccall. He was the kind of person and teacher to mentor children in a way that left a real impression in our hearts. What a gift to us all! So fortunate to have had the opportunity to know him. Thank you, Mr Whipple.

My heartfelt(and late) condolences to Mr. Whipple's family. What a wonderful man. He was such a strong, gentle and wise influence on so many kids. I can't imagine how many students he had in just the one year that I had him for band at Quannah McCall. I still remember hearing our first practice as a full band. It was amazing. I remember the songs. I remember later looking forward to going to visit him for lessons with my brother and father. We always looked forward to our time with him. He was so knowledgeable, so patient, so warm, so kind. I think of him quite often and will continue to do so. Now, it will be a little bit bittersweet. RIP.
Quannah McCall 1981-1982.

One a bus in Denali and the driver was a music teacher who pulled out a blow horn that reminded me of the fabulous Mr. Whipple. I never forgot him. It was probably because of him that I continued to play clarinet through high school. He was a great teacher. I'm sorry to hear he passed. Never forgotten.

Hey Dennis,
I know you can hear me, you always heard everything we were whispering back at Quannah McCall in 1975.
Thank you for your patience, and for introducing me to music, the passion that would influence and guide my entire life.
Whenever I would run into you in later years you would always greet me with great warmth and respect, I hope you know that I always had the same respect for you.
Rest easy Sir, you deserve it.

So sad to hear about this. He had such a passion for teaching and appreciating music. I learned a lot about music through him. Vegas schools will be at a loss without him.

Mr. Whipple taught me to play, read, and love music. He will be missed but not forgotten.

To the family of Dennis Whipple I extend my heartfelt sympathy at the passing of this remarkable person.  Dennis was the personification of what a friend, educator, and family man should be.  

I knew Dennis would go on to make a positive influence in numerous ways to so many.  

We had a gas at LVHS with music, cars, photography and just being teenagers.  Dennis was a buddy you could trust with your life, knowing he would never disappoint.

I'm thankful to have crossed paths with this good "band man" and friend.

Mr. Whipple, the memories I have, learning to play my flute, will never be forgotten. You were a dynamic character and influential to so many friends, peers, and many more beyond and before my student years. Thank you for all the laughs and all the passion that went into your teaching. I hope your family and daughters will find solace and comfort, knowing you were so greatly admired and influential.

I gained great friends, a great appreciation for music, and a great mentor in Mr.Whipple's class. May he rest in peace.

Mr. Whipple was a great man and teacher. He was my band teacher for 3 years in middle school. I talked too much in class and he had me sit by someone quiet, and the quiet girl and I have been best friends for 14 years. Prayers and hugs to the Whipple family. He will be missed.

You were an amazing band teacher.  As a parent, I was always amazed at how well those kids played in the band.  Even the beginning bands were just fabulous!  My sons always came home with fun and interesting stories you would tell them. You were more than a teacher. My sincere thanks and my deepest sympathy and prayers go out to your family. Mr Whipple was the biggest influence and inspirational mentor I ever had as a kid. I appreciate the skills he taught me as he taught with passion..  and compassion.. and love. I will never forget what it was like playing in band while he was the band director. He will forever be a part of the things that sculpted me into the person I am today. Thank you for that Dennis.

Mr. Whipple taught me the bass clarinet over 30 yrs ago. Our 6th grade band was the best. you will be missed.

I'll always remember Dennis fondly....we had so much fun in high school. My sincerest condolences to his family. He's healed and with the Lord.

Mr. Whipple was a bright light for sooooo many youngsters, myself included. I to this day have a love and appreciation for music through his teaching. He will be missed, however forever remembered in the fondest ways. Rest In Peace!!!

The band in heaven  just received a huge gift. 
My condolences to the family and friends. Please know this wonderful man touched so many lives and made music fun.  35years. That's a lot of students.  I had Mr Whipple almost 30 years ago. I still have the music he wrote for our 6th grade band. He will be missed and remembered by so many.

He was the first who sat me down and taught me music. I learned to play the French Horn. If it was not for him I would have quit band.

High school led to marching band and Color Guard. Some of the most fantastic days of my youth I owe to him.

Rest now Mr Whipple. When we meet again, conduct a cheerful song; I'll pick up my French Horn and join in.

Mr. Whipple was my band teacher at Quannah McCall 6th grade center back in 1980. He was the most amazing teacher and created a truly wonderful music experience. I still remember how hard he worked us and how great he got a little 6th grade band to sound. My deepest condolences to his family.

Mr Whipple helped shape who i am by teaching me to play the saxophone and become proficient in music and helped me in a way no one else has. He is a great man and will be missed. Thank you for everything
